Research Activities
Within the research group ENVOC, development of cleaner production technologies is a major research issue. An important research line is the development of environmental performance assessment tools. With a growing demand on resources on one hand and a growing demand on the other hand, the assessment of the resource consumption fingerprint and resource efficiency is studied through a thermodynamic approach that covers the whole life cycle.
Contribution to PROSUITE
UGent is involved in WP1 on Technology characterization and WP2 on economic assessment. In WP6 UGent will lead the case study on “Biorefineries and organic waste management” (Task 6.1).
